But, contrary to the cliche, hindsight is *not* always 20/20. History is outrageously written sometimes, based completely on what people want to hear. I reference your earlier entry about people wanting *another* Reagan. As if the first one didn't screw things up badly enough. In what Bizarro world was Reagan an ideal?!<BR/><BR/>Would it be useful to ask someone like Obama, or any other Presidential hopeful, just what they intend to do to extract us from this mess? Not just "the war", but the morass/funk that we have been so sunk in that the best efforts of all the brightest we could muster could not prevent a re-election of this monkey in 2004.<BR/><BR/>Or maybe those are the wrong people to ask. I hate to start using words like "revolution" and "coup" because they are so often misunderstood and mischaracterized as necessarily "armed". But, when in the course of human events...<BR/><BR/>Just once, I'd like to be proud. Not because we swing more missiles than anyone else, not because we police the world. But, because we are decent.
